Denzel Washington

 Denzel Hayes Washington Jr. was born on the 28th of December 1954, in Mount Vernon, New York. He is the middle child of Lennis Washington who is a Georgia-based beauty therapist, and Denzel Washington, Sr. from Virginia. Denzel, who graduated high school, enrolled at Fordham University with the intention to pursue a career as a journalist. But he was bitten by the acting bug while appearing in the student dramas. Later, upon graduation, he moved to San Francisco and enrolled at the American Conservatory Theater. He left A.C.T. After just one year, he left A.C.T. to take on acting roles. His first paid acting role was in a summer stock theatre stage production in St. Mary's City, Maryland. The show was "Wings of the Morning", which was about the creation of the colony of Maryland (now the state of Maryland) as well as the early times of the Maryland colonial assembly (a legislative body). He played an actual historical character, Mathias Da Sousa, although much of the dialogue was fabricated. Afterwards he began to pursue screen roles in earnest. He was a versatile actor and had a formidable presence, making it simple to get work in a variety of television productions.
