Norm MacDonald

Norman Gene MacDonald was MacDonald's father. MacDonald was born in Quebec City, Quebec, on the 17th of October in 1959. He began his stand-up comedy career. MacDonald's first job was writing for The Dennis Miller Show (1992) followed by Roseanne (1988). Lorne Michaels spotted MacDonald while he was writing for Roseanne (1988). He then gave him his Saturday Night Live (1975) job. MacDonald's famous phrase, "And now, the fake news" was what earned him the status of a well-known Weekend Update anchor. He lasted from September 24, 1994 until the 13th of December 1997 at which point he was fired by Don Ohlmeyer, president of NBC on the west coast. The last weekend update was on the 13th of December 1997 and he was officially dismissed from the program in March 1998. Dirty Work (1998) was his movie that he had started working on in summer 1997. The film was released two months later. His ABC show, Norm (1999), was introduced in March 1999 and aired for three seasons. He also starred opposite Dave Chappelle in Screwed (2000).
