New Zealand icon Lucy Lawless is well-known for her role as "Xena the Warrior Princess". Lucy is married to producer Rob Tapert (Robert Gerard Tapert) and resides in New Zealand. They have two sons: Julius Robert Bay Tapert and Judah Miro Tapert, who were both born in New Zealand. Lucy has a daughter, Daisy Lawless. She was also a wife to Garth Lawless in her first marriage. Lucy was born Lucille Frances Ryan to Julie who was a teacher, and Frank Ryan (a banker and mayor of the city). She was awarded an Order of Merit in the New Zealand Queen's Birthday Honor List in June 2004. Lucy who played "Xena in Xena: Warrior Princess" led to her becoming a cult television star, has been involved with the Starship Foundation and has held the position of its board of trustees. In 1995, Lucy was given the Order of Merit in recognition of her contribution to entertainment and the community. Lucy played the character of "Xena: Warrior Princess" on the television series, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys (1995). The three-story storyline led to her own spinoff, Xena: Warrior Princess (1995).
