Bindi Irwin

Bindi Sue Irwin was the daughter Terri and Steve Irwin. They are nature conservationists and stars of the Crocodile Hunter series. When she was a child, Bindi was raised on the grounds, and was able to assist the staff at the Australia Zoo in their daily tasks. Bindi was home-schooled so that she could spend time with her family and the animals she loved. Thanks to her father's career in the field of television, Bindi made her first broadcast appearances as young as two, and has been included in shows like The Crocodile Hunter Diaries, and 2002's film The Wiggles: Wiggly Safari. In 2006, her father Steve was killed by a stingray during a shoot, putting Bindi in the middle of the international media craze. When she was eight, Bindi was able to become the family spokesperson, giving interviews with important TV personalities like David Letterman, Ellen DeGeneres and Larry King. Bindi was a prolific producer with a variety of film projects on the horizon before the death of her father. This personal tragedy was also her first foray into the world of film. Bindi Kidfitness was released on DVD and CD in 2006 and was an immediate success. She was named the Ambassador of Tourism for Australia with a full tour schedule, including live appearances in several cities around the world to promote Australian eco-tourism. Additionally the Discovery Kids television network program called Bindi the Jungle Girl went into production soon afterward. The series of 26 episodes will air in the fall of 2007.
