Ameesha (pronounced "@'mi?sa [p@:l]]) was born Amisha Amit Palel on the 9th of June, 1975. She is an Indian actress, model and model. Her first acting appearance was in the year 2000, with the romantic thriller film Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai which was commercially and critically successful , and she was awarded several awards, including the Zee Cine Award for Best Female Debut.Patel rose to prominence with Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001) which was one of the biggest hits in the cinema history of Hindi film, and earned her an Filmfare Special Performance Award. She made her Telugu film debut in the acclaimed Badri (2000).Patel is also part of successful films including Humraaz (2002), Kya Yehi Pyaar Hai (2002), Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. (2007), Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007) and Race 2 (2013).His grandfather Rajni Patel was a lawyer as well as an Indian Congress's president. In Mumbai the street known as "Barrisrer Rajani Patel Marge was named in his honor in 1986. She is Ashmit Patel's older sister, and was born to Barrister Rajni Patel (the former President of the Congress Pradesh Committee in Mumbai). She was born at the Breach Candy Hospital, Mumbai and she is an accomplished Bharatnatyam dancer.
