Ameesha Patel

 Ameesha (pronounced "@'mi?sa p@:l"), (born Amisha Amit Palel on June 9, 1975), an Indian actress and model. She is mostly seen in Hindi films, but she also appears in a few Telugu movies. Her first acting appearance was in the year 2000, with the romantic thriller film Kaho... Pyaar Hai which was commercially and critically profitable and earned her numerous awards, including the Zee Cine Award for Best Female Debut.Patel rose to prominence in the film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001), which became one of the most successful films in the film history of Hindi cinema. It also earned her an Filmfare Special Performance Award. Badri, her Telugu film debut, was her first. Ltd. (2007), Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007) and Race 2 (2013).His grandfather Rajni Patel was a lawyer as well as an Indian national congress's politician. In Mumbai there was a street named "Barrisrer" Rajani Patel Marge was named after him in 1986. She is the sister of Ashmit Patel and the granddaughter of the lawyer and politician Barrister Rajni Patel, who was the Congress Pradesh Committee President of Mumbai. She was born in the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai and has been a trained Bharatnatyam dancer since at the age of five.Her birth name is a mixture of the initial three letters of her father's name Amit and the three last letters of the name of her mother Asha.She studied at the Cathedral and John Connon School in Mumbai and was the head girl during the academic period 1992-93. She then went to Tufts University in United States to study Bio-genetic Engineering, where she studied for two years, and then transferring to Economics.
