Vanilla Ice

 Vanilla Ice, one of the American rapper who became a worldwide sensation with his hit single "Ice Ice Baby" is an American one-hit sensation. The rapper was born Robert Matthew Van Winkle and was known as Vanilla Ice when he was in his teens. He was the son of a family that was broken. He didn't know the identity of his father's biological father and was often moved when his stepfather switched jobs. When he was a teenager, he performed poorly in school and dropped out of high school without completing his degree. One thing that stood this teenager apart from other youngsters in homes that were troubled was his extraordinary musical talents. He loved hip-hop and practiced break dancing, specifically the dance known as 'ice'. This led to his nickname. He gathered his own group of performers, called 'The Vanilla Ice Posse' and would perform on streets as well as in clubs. Apart from music, he also had another passion--motor racing and had won three consecutive titles at the National Grand Championship. After suffering an injury that required him to retire from racing professionally, and instead focus his efforts in music. The album he released was "Hooked" later reissued as 'To The Extreme with the hit single 'Ice Ice Babe that became his claim to fame. The album reached No.1 on the Billboard 200 and is credited to have popularized hip-hop among the white audience.
