Usher

Usher Raymond IV was the son of Jonetta Patton (nee O’Neal), and Usher Ray III in Dallas, Texas. At the age of six, he began singing and was a part of the local church choir. His mother was the choir's director. Jonetta, a single mom was the one who raised Usher and his younger brother, James at home in Chattanooga, Tennessee, before moving the family to Atlanta, Georgia, when Usher was twelve years old. The singer has referred to her as his best friend, Usher's mom continues to steer the young singer's career by being his manager, a duty she assumed after quitting her full-time office job a few years back. Usher began to participate in talent shows for local talents following his moving to Atlanta. Bryant Reid, his brother and renowned R&B producer, was there to watch Usher perform in the year 1992. He was also co-president of LaFace Records with 'Kenneth Babyface’ Edmonds. Bryant arranged for Usher to audition for his brother, and the well-known producer was immediately impressed with the young singer's precocious talent--legend claims that Reid provided Usher an agreement on the spot. In 1994, Usher released his debut album with LaFace. The record, which was co-executive-produced by Reid and Sean 'P. Diddy Combs, also produced the minor smash "Think of You". He was only 14 years old young when he began working on the album. Puberty also proved to be a hurdle. The producers hired several vocal coaches to help Usher in the process of completing the album. They were successful as Usher's youth exuberance and his natural singing talents were recorded on the album, which was a massive hit with a lot of listeners. After graduating high school
