Sigourney Weaver

 Sigourney Weaver was born as Susan Alexandra Weaver on October 8th, 1949 in Leroy Hospital in New York City. Her father Sylvester L. Weaver Jr. was a television producer initially was hoping for Flavia to be named because of his love for Roman history. He already had given her older brother Trajan the name. Her mother, Elizabeth Inglis, was an actress from the UK. British actress who had given up her career for the sake of her family. Sigourney was an incredibly happy young girl living in a bubble of guilt-free happiness. She was taken care of by nannies and maids. In 1959, the Weavers had resided in 30 households. The year 1961 was the year Sigourney began attending the Brearly Girls Academy but her mother transferred her to a different New York private school, Chapin. Sigourney was taller than most of her classmates (at 13 she was 5' 10") This led to her constantly being ridiculed and criticized and, in order to earn acceptance from them she assumed the position of the class clown.In 1962 her family relocated to San Francisco briefly, an unsettling event for her. After that, they relocated back east to Connecticut and she became an student at the Ethel Walker School, facing the same issues as prior. In 1963, she changed her name to "Sigourney", after the character "Sigourney Howard" in F. Scott Fitzgerald's "The Great Gatsby" (her her birth name, Susan, was in honor of her mother's best friend,
