Mandy Moore

 Amanda Leigh Moore was born April 10, 1984 in Nashua (New Hampshire) to Stacy (Friedman), an ex-news journalist, and Don Moore (an airline pilot). Her family moved to Orlando, Florida during her childhood. It was here that she was born. She is Russian Jewish (from her maternal grandfather), English, Scottish and Irish, ancestry.After seeing the musical "Oklahoma! " and deciding she wanted to take up a singing career. When she was a kid she sang the National Anthem at several athletic events around her hometown in Orlando, Florida, and was dubbed"the "National Anthem girl". At the age of fourteen, when she was recording at an studio in Orlando, a Fed-Ex worker who happened to be traveling by heard her voice and was impressed by her talent. He happened to know someone at Sony too. Moore created a demo, shortly after signing an agreement with Sony 550 Music. The album she first released, "So Real", was released when she was fifteen. Her first tour was with the Backstreet Boys.As her touring and recording schedule demanded more of her time, Moore withdrew from Bishop Moore Catholic High School in Orlando and opted for a tutor/correspondence. Moore has claimed that her education is very important to him and that the fact she wants to go college motivates her.
