American actor, producer and director Jack Nicholson is a three time Academy Award winner and twelve times nominated. Nicholson is also known for being one of only two actors - the other one being Michael Caine - who have been awarded an Oscar nomination every decade between the '60s and the '00s.Nicholson was born on April 22, 1937, in Neptune, New Jersey. He was taught that his grandmother was his mother, and that his mother, June Frances Nicholson, an actress was his elder sister. In 1975 the Time magazine journalist was investigating an article about him, and came across the truth. The father of his son was either Donald Furcillo (an Italian American showman) or Eddie King (Edgar Kirschfeld) was born in Latvia and worked in the show business. Jack's mother's origins were Irish as well as smaller portions of English, German, Scottish as well as Welsh.Nicholson made his debut in film in a B-movie called The Cry Baby Killer (1958). His rise to Hollywood was far from meteoric and, for a long time the actor maintained his success with guest spots in TV series as well as a handful of Roger Corman films, including The Little Shop of Horrors (1960).
