Amy Irving

 Amy Davis Irving (born September 10, 1953) is an American actor and singer who has worked in stage, film, and television. She has been awarded numerous awards including an Obie Award, as well as nominations for two Golden Globe Awards, an Academy Award and two Golden Globe Awards. Irving was born in Palo Alto to Jules Irving (actors) and Priscilla Pinter (singer). Her family relocated to New York City when she was a teenager. At age 13, she made her Broadway debut with The Country Wife (1965-1966). At age 13, Irving began her theater studies at San Francisco's American Conservatory Theater and London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. She then made her Broadway debut in The Country Wife (1965-1966). In 1980, Irving was nominated for the Razzie Award for Worst Supporting Artistress, and was also in an award for the Broadway production of Amadeus. She was cast as a lead actress in Barbra Streisand's musical epic Yentl (1983), for which she was nominated both an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress and a Razzie Award for the Worst Supporting Actress. In 1988, she received an Obie Award for her Off-Broadway performance in the production The Road to Mecca, and was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for her performance in the comedy Crossing Delancey (1988).Irving went on to perform in the first Broadway production of Broken Glass (1994) and the revival of Three Sisters (1997). She also appeared in Deconstructing Harry (1997).
