Amy Frederica Brenneman (born June 22 1964) is an American actor and producer. She was a frequent TV actress and became famous in the role of Detective Janice Licalsi in the ABC police drama series NYPD Blue (1993-1994). Brenneman was later the creator and lead actor of the series Judging Amy (1999-2005). Brenneman received five nominations for Primetime Emmy Awards in recognition of her performances in Judging Amy (1999-2005). She also starred as Judge Amy Gray on the drama series on CBS, Private Practice (2007-2013), and also as Laurie Garvey (2014-2017). Brenneman is most famous for her character Faye Moskowitz in Frasier. Brenneman was also the daughter of Frederica Joanne (nee Shoenfield), who is a judge at Connecticut State Superior Court as well as Russell Langdon Brenneman Jr. an environmental lawyer. Beryl D.Hines was journalist of the Cold War era, was her aunt. Her father was an environmental lawyer, Russell Langdon Brenneman Jr. was from English, Irish and Swiss descent.
