Virginia Madsen is an American producer and actor. She is most well recognized for her roles in the film 'Sideways' as well as 'Candyman. She is the daughter of 'Emmy Award'-winning author and filmmaker Elaine Madsen and sister of the actor, poet, writer and director and photographer Michael Madsen, Virginia made her debut in film with the American comedy "Class.' Following this she was cast in the character of 'Princess Irulan' in David Lynch's American epic science-fiction film 'Dune. The actress gained widespread popularity with her role of "Lisa Taylor" on the American romantic drama 'Fire with Fire. The actress then gave award-winning performances in 'Candyman' as well as 'Sideways.' The latter also brought her an Academy Award and 'Golden Globe' nominations. Other films with notable performances by Virginia include 'A Prairie Home Companion,' 'The Rainmaker,' 'Joy, and 'Red Ridinghood.' Over the years, Virginia has also featured in numerous TV series, such as American Dreams and 'Designated the Survivor.' She has also appeared in TV films like "Linda" and "Victim of Love. In addition, she has launched her own production company for film called 'Title IX Productions.. The first film she produced was a documentary titled "I Know a Woman Like That,' directed by her mother.
