Tim Allen is an American actor, comedian, voice over artist, entertainer, and writer. After years of struggle as a stand-up comedian in Los Angeles, and appearing in commercials for small-time TV and cable programs, Allen finally got his breakthrough on ABC's sitcom "Home Improvement." The show ran for eight years and helped launch Allen's career as an actor. It established Allen as an actor as well as comedian in Hollywood. He was offered roles in films such as "Galaxy Quest" and "The Santa Clause". Allen was also the voice of Buzz Lightyear in the animated show 'Toy Story. Allen was a chaotic person before becoming an actor. His father passed away when he was just 11, and he dealt with illicit drugs to earn easy money. He was arrested for the possession of cocaine, and placed in jail for 28 months.
