Rod Stewart

 Roderick David "Rod" Stewart, CBE is a British rock singer-songwriter. He was born in London and grew up there. His heritage is English and Scottish. Stewart is one of the best-selling music artists of all time, having sold over 100 million records worldwide. In the UK Stewart has been a number one for six consecutive albums. His total of 62 hit singles include 31 that reached the top 10, and six of them reached the top spot. In the US there have been 16 top ten hits, with four of them reaching the top one on the Billboard Hot 100. In 2007, he was awarded a CBE at Buckingham Palace for services to music. Stewart rose to fame in the 1970s and 1960s as a vocalist with his distinctive voice. He began his career with The Jeff Beck Group, then with the Faces. His 1969 dA(c),but album, An Old Raincoat Will Never Let You Down was the first album of his own solo career. The first albums he released were a fusion of rock, folk music and soul music, as well as R&B. His work with the Jeff Beck Group and The Faces in the blues with a ferocious edge has influenced many heavy metal genres. Stewart's music was frequently heavily influenced by New Wave and soft rock/MOR styles. Stewart also released a number of albums that interpreted the Great American Songbook in the 2000s.
