Rod Stewart

 Born in Highgate, London, on January 10, 1945, Rod was the eldest of Scottish-born Robert and Elsie Stewart's five children. At the age of 12 years old, he started how to play guitar, and was inspired by Lonnie Donegan's music. He was a full-time musician in the 1960s after he quit his apprenticeship at the Brentford Football Club. The year 1964 was when Long John Baldry, an iconic British blues legend, heard him sing in the Twickenham railway station. He asked to invite him to join his group. The next year was the first of numerous band changes for the young star. Rod along with Long John formed the outfit Steampacket however, following their tour with The Faces, the Rolling Stones' supporting act the group broke up and Rod was a part of The Jeff Beck Group. Jeff Beck Group. He along with Ron Wood, the band's bassist joined The Faces in 1969. Rod's first solo album was released in the same year. It was the start of a two-pronged career, which would continue to grow until The Faces, the last rock group to which he would be affiliated, split in 1975.
