Alexandra Doig, a Toronto native was born to Gloria who was an Filipina mother and David who was an Irish-Scottish father. Her parents owned season tickets to their local theater and Lexa was inspired to begin acting after watching a production of "Porgy and Bess" at the age of nine. In the year 13 she quit high school and started modeling and commercial work. She also hosted YTV's Video & Arcade Top 10 (1991), with Gordon Michael Woolvett. The first time she was employed professionally was when she was 19 when she was cast with Greg Evigan and William Shatner in "TekWar." She was later cast in numerous projects both for the small and big screens and included CI5: The New Professionals (1998), Jungleground (1995) and No Alibi (2000), prior to landing the lead role in Jason X (2001), the 10th installment in the Friday the 13th television series. The role was quickly cast for her in the role of Andromeda Ascendant, a smart artificial intelligence (AI) system. She has appeared on several shows on television, including Traders (1996) as well as Earth: Final Conflict (1997) and The Chris Isaak (2001). Theatre credits include "Arsenic and Old Lace" as well as "Romeo and Juliet".
