Kelly Ripa had been performing in her senior high school play, The Ugly Duckling, when she was approached by her current manager, Cathy Parker, who encouraged her to pursue acting. After finishing her studies at Camden County Community College in New Jersey she performed in theatre productions throughout the region before joining All My Children (1970) in the month of November, 1990. Kelly has been nominated for the 1993 Daytime Emmy Award and a 1993 Soap Opera Award. Kelly, is the first of her family members to pursue the profession of acting. She has been dancing since she was just three years old, and also plays the piano.
