Julie Benz was born May 1st, 1972 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania USA. Julie's father is a Pittsburgh surgeon and her mother, a surgeon from Pittsburgh, also figure skaters. The family moved to nearby Murrysville in the year Julie was twoyears old. she began skating at age three. She came in 13th at the 1988 U.S. Championships for junior ice dancing and ice dancing, with David Schilling as her partner. Jeffrey, her older brother, as well as Jennifer both participated participants in the 1987 U.S. Championships in junior ice dancing. Junior Champions in ice dancing and also competed internationally. Julie was just 14 when she suffered a stress fracture. She had to stop figure skating and turned to acting. Julie got a part in "Street Law" at the local theater.
