American actor and filmmaker Jon Cryer is best known for his roles in the television series Two and a Half Men' and the movie Pretty in Pink'. Both his parents worked in the field of the entertainment industry, so it was only natural for him to gravitate towards a career in acting. After the success of his Broadway debut in 'Torch Song Trilogy', he got given a handful of parts in television and film serials before he got his breakthrough in the movie "Pretty Pink" as a producer and writer. The film, "Went to Coney Island with a Message From God... Return by Five" Back By Five," was shown at the Los Angeles Film Festival. The first films and TV serials were not very well-received, so it took him some time to be an actor. His appearance in the TV serial called 'Two and Half Men,' got him two Emmy awards and things began changing better for him.
