Hayley Atwell

 Born in London, England, Hayley Elizabeth Atwell holds dual citizenship of both the United Kingdom and the United States. An only child, Hayley was named after the actress Hayley Mills. Her parents, Alison (Cain) and Grant Atwell, both motivational speakers, met at the London seminar of Dale Carnegie's self-help bible "How to Win Friends and Influence People". Her mother is English (with Irish ancestry) and her father is American He was born in Kansas City, Missouri, and is partly from Native-American descent (his Native American name is Star Touches Earth). Her parents divorced when she was at the age of two. Hayley was brought up in London by her mother. Her father moved to America after which Hayley lived with her mother. She spent the summer in Missouri with her father. Hayley was first exposed to theatre by her mom who believed it was an important event for everyone. At the age of 11 she took a memorable trips to see Ralph Fiennes playing Hamlet. She would later work alongside him on The Duchess (2008).She went to the Roman Catholic girl's school Sion-Manning in West London where she excelled academically. She graduated with her A-levels from London Oratory School. She traveled for two years with her father, and also worked as casting director.
