Donna Douglas

 Donna Douglas was an American singer and actor, well famous for her character 'Elly May Clampett' in the sitcom 'The Beverly Hillbillies' (1962-1971), one of the most popular sitcoms ever. She started as model and was crowned a couple of beauty pageants also. Donna later appeared on a couple of variety shows before gaining the famed role of 'Elly. Although she appeared in a myriad of TV productions during the 1960s, Donna was still relatively unknown when she was auditioning for 'Hillbillies.' Apart from the 'Hillbillies', Donna hadn't had any other notable projects in her career. While she was in the lead role in the Elvis Presley-starrer, 'Frankie and Johnny' it wasn't seen as a significant role. After her lengthy stint with the 'Hillbillies' Donna was a real estate agent , and later, a gospel artist. She had also been an inspirational speaker of note and wrote a number of books for adults and children.
