In 1989, Locane starred opposite Adam Horovitz in Lost Angels, an independent T-drama film. Locane was given the role of Allison Vernon-Williams the main character in John Waters' romantic comedy Cry-Baby the following year. The film did not make it to the top of the charts and has since evolved into the most sought-after classic. In the movies School Ties (1992), and Airheads (1994), she played Brendan Fraser's girlfriend.
