Katharine Bear Tur (born October 26th in 1983) is an American author and broadcast journalist working as correspondent for NBC News. Tur is anchor for MSNBC Live. She has also covered NBC News' NBC News platforms Early Today, Today and NBC Nightly News. Tur is the daughter of journalist Hanna Zoey Tur. She attended Brentwood School (2001), as well as the University of California, Santa Barbara (2005) with the degree of Bachelor of Arts in philosophy.Tur has worked for KTLA, HD News/Cablevision, News 12 Brooklyn, WPIX-TV as well as Fox 5 New York. Tur was an experienced storm chaser for The Weather Channel's VORTEX2 team. After that, she was hired by WNBC-TV in New York City and rose to become the primary NBC News. She covered Cory Monteith's death and a fatal motorcycle attack against an SUV and the MH-370 search while working in NBC News.
