Bernadette Peters

 Bernadette Peters (born Bernadette Lazzara; February 28th, 1948) is an American performer, actress and author of children's books. Over the course of an extensive career that spans five decades, she has been featured in musical theatre, films and television as well performing in solo shows as well as recordings. She is an established Broadway star who has been nominated for seven Tony Awards (plus an honorary award) and nine Drama Desk Awards. She won three of these. Four of the Broadway album of cast on which she has appeared have received Grammy Awards.Regarded by many as the most acclaimed performer of the works of Stephen Sondheim, Peters is especially praised for her performances in the Broadway stage, including in the musicals Mack and Mabel, Sunday in the Park with George, Song and Dance, Into the Woods, The Goodbye Girl, Annie Get Your Gun and Gypsy.Peters first performed on the stage as a young girl and later became a teenage actress in the 1960s, and in film and television during the 1970s. The public praised her for this early work as well as for her appearances on The Muppet Show, The Carol Burnett Show as well as in other television work as well as for her performances in films such as Silent Movie, The Jerk, Pennies from Heaven and Annie. In the late 1980s, she went back to the theatre,
