Sophia Loren

 Sophia Loren was born Sofia Scicolone on the 20th of September 1934 in the Clinica Regina Margherita, Rome. Her father Riccardo was married to another woman and was not willing to marry the mother of her children, Romilda Villani, despite the fact that she was his mother to two of his children (Sophia and Maria Scicolone, her younger sister). She grew up in Pozzuoli's in the slums of Italy during the Second World War, and was faced with a lot of sadness. At the age of 14 she participated in the beauty contest and was chosen as one of the finalists. Sophia was 22 years older than her, and caught the eye of Carlo Ponti, a film producer. She later got married to him. He may have been the father figure she had never known when she was a kid. Sophia was under his supervision and began as an extra in Le sei mogli di Barbablu (1950) Then she moved into supporting roles. Because of her gorgeous beauty, many believed she could save Lazzarus from death in these early films, she was called "Sofia Lazzaro".
