 Salma Hayek was born on September 2, 1966 in Coatzacoalcos, Mexico. Her father is of Lebanese origin and her mother has Mexican/Spanish ancestry. After seeing Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971) in a local movie theater, she decided that she wanted to become an actress. She was just 12 when she was accepted to the Academy of the Sacred Heart, New Orleans, Louisiana. She was a student at Mexico City's prestigious University the Sacred Heart in New Orleans the city of New Orleans, Louisiana. She was soon prepared to pursue acting with a serious approach.
