Nathan Donald Diaz (born April 16th in 1985) is an American professional mixed martial artist currently an unsigned free agent. Diaz is well-known for his participation in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), in which he fought for over 15 years following his victory in The Ultimate Fighter 5. Prior to joining the UFC, Diaz was a participant in World Extreme Cagefighting and Strikeforce. Diaz holds the record for the most UFC bonus awards with 16, he is the son of Melissa (nee womble) Diaz and Robert Diaz. He was born to Mexican and Anglo origins, and grew up in Stockton with his brother Nick and sister Nina. Diaz completed his studies at Tokay High School. At the age of 11, he started training in martial arts together with his brother Nick.
