Mariska (Ma-rish-ka) Magdolna Hargitay was born on the 23rd of January 1964 in Santa Monica, California. Her parents are Jayne Mansfield and Mickey Hargitay. She is the eldest of the three kids they have. Mariska, her brothers Zoltan Jr. and Mickey Jr. were riding in the back of a car in June 1967 when it was involved in a fatal accident that killed her mother. They both managed to get away without injury. Her father got married to a stewardess named Ellen and they had the three kids and gave them a normal, normal childhood. They also provided financial assistance to the children as Jayne Mansfield's estate was strewn with debt and left no money for them.Mariska majored in theater at UCLA. Ghoulies (1985) which was a cult classic it was her first film. She gave a memorable performance in the role of Donna. Mariska was not as popular as her mother Jayne who was a nude actress in pictorials and had her name changed, her hair colored, and her hair dyed to make her a star. Mariska was not willing to alter her name or appearance. She refused to copy her mother's sexy appearance by refusing to participate in the naked scenes from Jocks (1986). She assured casting directors that she was her own character when she held onto her dark locks and athletic physique while they were expecting another blond, buxom Jayne Mansfield. Mariska continued to attend acting classes, and waited for tables.
