 Lady Gaga, born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta is an American songwriter, singer and actress, as well as philanthropist, dancer and fashion designer.Gaga was born on March 28, 1986 in Manhattan, New York City to Cynthia Louise (Bissett) who is a philanthropist and business executive, and Joseph Anthony Germanotta, Jr. An internet-based businessman. Her father is Italian origin; while her mother, who is born in West Virginia, is of half Italian and half French, English, German, and Scottish ancestry. Gaga was able to sing and play the piano at a very young age. Gaga was a student at the Convent of the Sacred Heart at age 11. The school was a target for bullying because of her appearance, which was less attractive than other girls , and also had big front teeth. She was 17 when she was accepted to the New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. She also developed her songwriting abilities , and also created essays and research documents on religion, art as well as politics. At the age of 19 Gaga dropped out of her studies and moved out of her parents' house in order to pursue an acting career. At this point, she founded a band which began to attract attention from the local press
