Alicia Vikander

 Alicia Vikander, a Swedish actress and dancer, is a producer. She was born and raised in Gothenburg Vastra Gotalandslan, Sweden to Maria Fahl (an actress on stage and screen) as well as Svante Vikaander (a psychiatrist), she was born and raised there. She is half Finnish by her mother. Her maternal great aunt, who escaped the Second World War to move from Finland to Sweden, was also her maternal great aunt. Alicia began acting in her early years in small stage productions at the Goteborg Opera, and trained as a dancer at the Royal Swedish Ballet School in Stockholm as well as the School of American Ballet in New York. Her acting career as a professional began with appearances on Swedish television series. She was first recognized in Northern Europe as Josefin Bjorn–Tegebrandt, a role she played in the TV drama Second Avenue (2007). Vikander made her debut as a feature film in Pure (2009) which was for which she was awarded the Guldbagge Award for Best Actress. The actress gained a lot of attention in 2012 for her role as the role of Princess Ekaterina "Kitty" Alexandrovna Shcherbatskaya, who played the role in Joe Wright adaptation of Anna Karenina (2012), and as Queen Caroline Mathilde in the acclaimed Danish film A Royal Affair (2012) which earned her an BAFTA Rising Star Award nomination for her first major role. She was later cast in the 2013 Swedish drama film Hotel (2013)and played in Julian Assange's biopic The Fifth Estate (2013) in the in the same year. Vikander was nominated for the Golden Globe, BAFTA Award and the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress. She also played Vera Brittain, an activist in Testament of Youth (2014) as well as Gerda Wegener, the painter in Ex Machina (2014). In the roles she played, she was awarded the Academy Award as well as the Screen Actors Guild Award.
