Alicia Vikander

 Alicia Vikander, a Swedish dancer and actress and producer. She was born and was raised in Gothenburg Vastra Gotalands lan, Sweden, to Maria Fahl who was an actress for stage and screen, and Svante Vikander, psychiatrist. She is one-quarter Finnish by her mother. Her maternal great aunt who fled the Second World War to relocate from Finland to Sweden was also her maternal great aunt. Alicia began acting at the age of five in minor stage performances at the Goteborg Opera. She was also trained as a ballet dancer at the Royal Swedish Ballet School, Stockholm and the School of American Ballet, New York. She began her acting career in Swedish short films and television series, and first received recognition in Northern Europe for her role in the role of Josefin Bjorn-Tegebrandt on the TV drama Second Avenue (2007). Vikander's debut feature film role was in Pure (2009). In recognition of this, she received the Guldbagge Award as Best Actress. The actress gained a lot of attention in 2012 when she played Princess Ekaterina "Kitty" Alexandrovna Shcherbatskaya in Joe Wright's film adaptation of Anna Karenina (2012), and Queen Caroline Mathilde in the acclaimed Danish film A Royal Affair (2012) and receiving an BAFTA Rising Star Award nomination for her first major role. In 2013, she was a part-time actress in Hotel The Hotel, a Swedish drama film. She also appeared in The Fifth Estate (2013), a biopic about Julian Assange. Vikander received nominations for the Golden Globe, BAFTA Award as well as the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress. She also played the roles of Vera Brittain, an activist in Testament of Youth (2014) and Gerda Wegener as a painter in Ex Machina (2014). For these roles, she won the Academy Award as well as the Screen Actors Guild Award.
